Refund Policy

We want every family to feel good about what they pay for. Here is exactly how refunds work. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Monthly plans

Cancel any time from your Account page. You keep access through the end of the month you already paid for, and you are not charged again. We do not give partial refunds for the rest of a month. One exception: if you cancel within 7 days of your very first charge and have not printed a book or spent any Story Tokens, email us and we will refund that first charge as a courtesy.

Yearly plans

Cancel within 30 days of a yearly charge (first or renewal) and we refund the unused months, prorated. After 30 days, no refund, but you keep access until the year ends. We email a reminder before every yearly renewal so it never sneaks up on you.

Story Tokens

Tokens are included with Creator plans. Tokens you have spent on generating art or shaping a story are not refundable, because the AI work has already been done and paid for. If a generation fails or produces nothing usable, we return those tokens to your balance automatically; if that does not happen, tell us and we will fix it. Unspent tokens roll over for one month and are not converted to cash.

Gift subscriptions

A gift that has not been redeemed can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase; email us the code. Once a gift is redeemed it cannot be refunded or exchanged. Gift codes expire two years after purchase.

Free plan

The free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. Your free books stay yours.

Mistakes and duplicate charges

If we charged you twice, charged the wrong amount, or the Service was down for a long stretch during a period you paid for, we will refund or credit you. Just ask.

How to ask

Email support@storyfold.org from your account email with the word Refund in the subject. We reply within 2 business days and refunds land on your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. Refunds are issued through Stripe.

Your rights

Nothing here limits refund rights you have under the laws of your state or country. Where those laws give you more, you get more.
