Acceptable Use Policy

Storyfold makes bedtime books for children. Everything on the service has to be safe for a four-year-old to hold. This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it can get content removed and accounts closed without a refund, and some of it we are required to report.

Never allowed

  • Any sexual content involving minors, in words or pictures, real or fictional, including attempts to generate it. We block it, close the account and report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the law requires.
  • Content that sexualizes, grooms, endangers or exploits a child in any way.
  • Graphic violence, gore, self-harm, drug use, weapons instructions, or anything frightening beyond what a gentle picture book would show.
  • Hate, harassment, slurs, or content that demeans people for who they are.
  • Real people without their permission, including other families' children, celebrities and public figures.
  • Copyrighted or trademarked characters, stories, brands, logos or lyrics you do not own the rights to (Disney, Bluey, Paw Patrol, Pokemon, Marvel and the like). Storyfold is for original stories.
  • Deceptive content: fake news for kids, scams, or impersonating Storyfold or anyone else.

Not allowed either

  • Selling, reselling or redistributing library books or print files, or passing off Storyfold Originals as your own.
  • Scraping, bulk downloading, automated access, sharing one account across many families, or getting around plan limits, caps or moderation.
  • Using the Service to train AI models or to build a competing product.
  • Uploading malware, probing our systems, or interfering with other families' use.
  • Creating accounts for people under 18, or letting a child use your account unsupervised.

How we enforce it

Story text, prompts and generated images pass through automated moderation (including our AI provider's safety systems) before anything is saved or shown. Prompts that name protected characters or brands get a friendly ask to rewrite. People review flagged items. Every book page has a Report button. We keep per-account rate limits and a global spending cap so no one can run the studio into the ground. We may remove content, limit features or close accounts, and we cooperate with law enforcement when the law requires.

Report something

Use the Report button on any book, or email safety@storyfold.org. For copyright complaints, see our Copyright and DMCA page.
