Privacy Policy
Draft for review. This page must be reviewed by an attorney before Storyfold accepts payments or opens public signups.
Storyfold is operated by Alpha Social Media LLC ("Storyfold," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Storyfold, why, and the choices you have. Storyfold is built for parents and other adults. Children do not create accounts.
Who Storyfold is for
Accounts are for adults 18 and older. Storyfold is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents choose and print the books. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at admin@alphasocial.media and we will delete it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form. We never see them.
- Library activity: which books you choose and print, so we can track your story allowance and allow reprints.
- Stories you create (creator members): story text, page text, character names and descriptions, and any pictures you upload or generate.
- Usage and billing records: Story Token usage, plan, and billing period. When paid plans open, payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
- Technical data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type, and error reports, used to keep the service secure and working.
Pictures of children
You do not need to upload a photo of a real child to use Storyfold. If you choose to upload a photo as a character reference, it is stored privately in your account and sent to our AI provider only to create illustrations for your book. We recommend using a drawing or description instead of a real photo whenever you can.
How we use information
- To run your account, library allowance, and printable downloads.
- To turn your story into pages and illustrations when you ask us to.
- To keep Storyfold secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To send account and service emails. Marketing emails are optional and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your stories or pictures to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Storyfold, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- Supabase for accounts, database, and private file storage.
- Vercel for website hosting.
- OpenAI to clean up story text and create illustrations when a creator asks for them.
- Stripe for payments, once paid plans open.
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of our users.
Public books
Your stories are private unless you deliberately publish a finished book to the public library. Published books show the title, author name you chose, cover, and page count. You can make a published book private again from your account at any time.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it by emailing admin@alphasocial.media. We will confirm within 30 days. Some billing records may be kept longer where the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can view and update your account, unpublish books, and request a copy or deletion of your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. Email admin@alphasocial.media and we will help.
Security
Story files are stored in private storage, access is limited by account, and connections are encrypted. No system is perfect, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date above and let account holders know by email.
